Saint John School strikes 25 points in the last set to prevail over the Saint Mark Academy 3-1 in a volleyball elimination at the Arayata Sports Complex, Tanza, Cavite August 29, 2018 at 2 p.m.
“All the early mornings and tough practices were worth it. This victory proves that hard work really pays off,” said Jerome Artis.
The starting of the game was already full of spikes and defenses the tension between the two opposing team was visible, but SJS manage to win the first set of 25-19.
Beneath the heavy rain and thunderstorm brought by typhoon Maring the last set was a deciding moment of the match. Both teams fought fiercely, trading points back and forth but SJS claimed the victory of 25-20.
In the second set the SMA made a comeback against the SJS taking advantage of the errors of the 23-25. But SJS refused to accept defeat and gained a win in the third set of 25-20.
“This is a good start as we are gunning for the championship like our basketball posting a 6-0 winning streak,” said SJS coach Rody Santos.
