Party-list representative Hon. Ray T. Reyes of Anakalusugan has questioned the recent remarks made by Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (PRRD) regarding his stance on criminals on November 13, 2024.
In a statement, Reyes exposed concern that Duterte’s comments might “encourage criminals to fight” instead of surrendering to authorities, he also pointed out that Duterte appeared to favor an immediate and violent response, citing the former president’s words, “if may evidence patay agad”.
Reyes also mentioned the name Michael Yang, a businessman known associate of Duterte, questioning “gaano mo siya kakilala?” amid discussions about accountability and influence.
The Anakalusugan representative urged the public and government agency to uphold due process and strengthen the justice system instead of using violence in responding to crime.
