Former President Rodrigo Duterte appears before the Quad Committee hearing on the extra judicial killings at the House of Representatives in Quezon city on November 13, 2024.
Is it justice… Is it arrogance… Or is it both… Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivers impactful response in public hearing about the killing of drug users and some Chinese guy related to it.
November 13, 2024, in the public hearing, we have FPRRD and Hon. Ray T. Reyes whom is in the ANAKALUSUGAN partylist. Both of them were discussing about Duterte’s methods of killing drug users, whether if it is even fine to do so.
Reyes mentioned that Duterte said to encourage the criminals to fight, to draw their guns, hinting that they should be given some time or something. And at this point they were bragging about self defense.
“As a lawyer Mr. Duterte, what are the elements of self defense?” Reyes said asking Duterte. FPRRD’s responses are very subtle, that’s for sure. “When your life is in danger, you have the right to defend, kill the idiot infront, or you will be the idiot.” He stated.
Now, it states that the elements of self defense is when there is unlawful aggression, though, Duterte kills them instantly. That’s where giving the criminals time stated earlier comes in. You don’t even know if the person will be doing any aggression.
The concept was to kill the victim right away, right? Giving that, that’s what Duterte does. Reyes is still trying to figure out what’s in Duterte’s head.
“Ganon ba ako ka bobo? Am I that stupid?” Duterte said while obviously being furious. Then we shift to some Chinese guy named Michael Yang , who is or isn’t part of a drug organization. Duterte said that he will kill Mr. Yang instantly only if there’s evidence of him involved in drugs.
Mr. Yang lives in Davao, near Duterte’s house as stated, and he owns a big department store. Reyes is probably thinking that the department store is some kind of cover up for a drug organization, though it is just an assumption.
At this point, Duterte is probably fuming inside because of these assumptions and what not. Though, Duterte sets a strong ground during this public hearing. Powerful… and impactful… that’s what FPRRD’s aura gives off…
